WW1 MINERS' MEMORIAL

In the porch of St James the Great, Daisy Hill, Westhoughton is a memorial to miners of Eatock Pit who died in the Great War and three men who received honours for their bravery – one DCM and two MMs. The plaque was given to the church after the pit closed in 1934:
