SUDDEN DEATH OF WINGATE HEADMASTER
“After He Had Served His Own Generation’ James Davidson was for 15 years, the Headmaster of Wingate’s National School. He ‘fell asleep on May 27, 1879. On a post examinations day out with friends, he dismounted from his trap, and fell dead into the arms of his assistant master:
