CHIEF ENGINEER FELL OVERBOARD

Robert Dickie drowned at Lancaster in 1907 when he fell overboard. He was Chief Engineer of the SS Edernian. His wife had died in Edinburgh just two months earlier. Edernian was mined in 1917 and repaired only to be torpedoed and sunk, later the same year. Lancaster Cemetery:
