YOUNG MAN KILLED BY STRAP

Ernest Jones Mason (17) was killed at the Mill when a strap broke and struck his temple. He was buried at Atherton Cemetery, Wigan and, a few months later, a magnificent gravestone was erected on his grave. It was funded by contributions from his employer and his work colleagues
