Sixth Day of the Somme Casualty

A Sixth Day of the Somme casualty. Lt Caleb Walden Margerison, Lonsdale Battalion, The Border Regiment is remembered in Southport’s Duke Street Cemetery. He took part in a raid on the Bulls Eye Trenches of the Leipzig Redoubt on the night of 5/6th June 1916. and was Mentioned in Despatches. Lt Margerison died of wounds on July 6, 1916 aged 21. He is buried in Warloy Baillon Communal Cemetery, Somme.
