Tobacco Cutter

I have hundreds of In Memoriam cards in my collection but this is the first time I have found a photograph of the deceased printed inside. William Charlesworth was born in Honley, Yorkshire in 1811. He was described as a Widower in his marriage banns prior to his wedding to Susan Caroline Porter in 1847. Census records describe his occupation as 'tobacco cutter' and probate records state he left £137 to his wife. At the time of his death, he lived at 336 Wandsworth Road, Clapham. He was buried in Nunhead Cemetery, one of London's big seven cemeteries
